This place is very good for the cheap price and well worth the wait.I waited for about 30 mins which was in the weekday and low season.The beef rice is the best dish which is the Signature dish and a must order.The beef was cooked just right and soft and the rice was just right not too hard or too soft. The other dishes taste OK which was nothing special.If you looking for a parking space. A cross the road there is a parking area.

The Red Beef Don is the most expensive item. The rest of the items are reasonably priced. I found the red beef udon really delicious. The beef used is a different cut and because it is probably simmered in the soup, it is really tasty. The red beef don is nice, though I would prefer a slightly more doneness. The egg is cooked just right too. When I soaked it in the udon soup to cook it a bit more, it was really good! I reached about 10.45am and got in without queueing. As I left, the queue number system had started.

Highly recommend to have a bowl of local beef of Kumamoto in this restaurant! It’s definitely worth! You need to go to the restaurant before 10am otherwise you will wait for 1 hour at least. But there is another option that you get the numbered ticket first and come back to the restaurant approximately 2 hours later. Anyway if you would like to have a try, it’s better to make a plan for the day.

I went to Kyushu bullet ferry touring. Although it was a good line even on weekdays, if I was waiting near the store, I was able to jump over the absent person and enter the store unexpectedly early.The red beef bowl was as delicious as the rumors. The compatibility between the spicy meat miso and the wasabi was also excellent.

All the dishes that we order is delicious and the beef fragrance smell is none . It’s worth to wait for the long queue. The noodle chambon also very nice. Service is good and quick. Must try ! Highly recommended and I would return back again . There’s free car parking around.

A long wait for an ok bowl of beef steak rice. Don't have too high expectations of this place - it is good but not mind blowing for 2-3 hours of wait. I waited for 30-45min at 2pm on a weekday.

The measures against the new corona were perfect. The staff was kind and asked me to take a group photo if I took a photo in the table. Red beef bowl is also delicious. Wasabi is also elegant and the miso is really delicious. I'll let you know again.

In Aso, AkaUshi is a special type of beef without excess fat and allows you to feel "satiated". Next are "takanazuke" (green pickles) and "dagojiru" (the local name for dumpling soup) which uses a lot of root vegetables and dango in its manufacture. This soup is a favorite among farmers because of its nutritional content. In addition, you can also taste fresh milk and fresh mineral water, tofu made with that water, and also local sake (Japanese rice wine). Don't miss you visiting.

The gyudon was a perfect blend of melt-in-your-mouth steak top with am onsen egg and a small spoonful of red miso sauce and wasabi. Good value for money considering the quality of the meat!

Had to wait 3 hours when I visited for lunch on a Saturday of a long weekend. You can write your name down and they will tell you to come back in X number of hours. Great chance to relax in one of the many nearby onsen.The AKAGYUDON (red beef bowl) is the star of the show. They do a "large" size that wasn't written down on the menu (when I was there) for an extra 100 yen. Ask for 大盛り (oumori).

It's worth the line.This is my second visit, but the first time I gave up because I had no time to spare. I was able to enter the store on my second visit.The deliciousness that cannot be laughed, especially the meat miso is the best.I bought meat miso as a souvenir, but I should have bought more!I will go again!

Beef and chicken rice is delicious

If you are beef lover this is something worth to try, it is cooked in Japanese rice-set-box style, I love the taste of Mince beef with boiled egg rice bowl & the Hamburger Steak w/ rice set. Small shop with unadorned service, Tart Tart mi & chair seat half & half share around 7-9 tables. So always has people line up outside the door.

Soo good! After reading here the reviews we thought we would have to wait at least an hour, but we waited around 20 minutes or so, well worth the amazing lunch we ate. We actually ordered another serving of this delicious beef bowl (3 total for 2 people). Highly recommended.

The infamous gyu-don restaurant on the Kumamoto-Aso route, be here early to avoid a long wait. Totally delicious, meat cooked perfectly medium rare with a light sauce drizzled over. Seiko Matsuda was playing on the record player in the background, 80s J-pop nostalgia if you know what I am talking about.

30 minutes before the opening, we waited in line for 1 hour.Numbered tickets will be distributed, so you can browse around the general stores and cafes while you wait.I already waited 3 hours around 11 o'clock, so I recommend you to go early.The staff of the shop are friendly and feel good. I think this is popular, including customer service. Red beef bowl is 1700 yen. You can enjoy the taste of red beef with a lightly seasoned taste.

A restaurant with 4 dishes of good quality. You might have to wait turns in the weekend, since it is loved by japanese people for it's beef (A-menu).

It’s very tasty but not more so than anything else you eat in Japan. I think it’s too hyped and the waiting times are too long for the quality. You can get something like this in Tokyo everywhere without waiting.

Just get the beef rice. You won't be disappointed. Best gyu-don I have had.

Even at 2pm on a weekday, there was still a 1.5 hour wait for 2 people!

The meat is tender and a slightly sweet broth spreads when chewed. The set soup is also delicious.The price was raised compared to the past, but I went to the end of February and waited for more than 4 hours. Very nice beef rice. It’s amazing how one good restaurant can brighten up the whole little town. I also tried Resutorankitayama(レストラン 北山). I would say the beef in Kitayama is more tender.

This shop is famous for their beef bowl. Be prepared to wait for a long time but they will give you a queue number and you can go to the shops beside to spend the time. Food was ok but not sure if it's worth the wait

Queued for 1.5 hours but it was worth it!! Super tender beef cooked to perfection. The wait wasn't too bad, the numbers run pretty quickly and the staff was so helpful and friendly.

Although I was waiting for a popular restaurant, I was very satisfied with the taste! Red beef bowl is definitely recommended.
